Knowledge usually starts private and earns its way to the team. You capture a client call into your own brain, and most of it stays there: your impressions, your half-thoughts, the tangents. But the decision made on that call belongs in the team brain, where everyone can find it. Promoting is how it gets there: a deliberate copy of specific knowledge from your brain into a shared brain you have Write access to. It never happens on its own; you (or your agent, on your instruction) choose what moves and where.

How it works

You invoke the promote skill, point it at what should be shared, and name the destination brain. The skill:
  1. Reads the source material in your brain.
  2. Writes a clean page (or updates an existing one) in the shared brain, phrased for a team audience rather than copied verbatim.
  3. Records the promotion as the page’s provenance, so the shared page knows when and where it came from, without exposing your private notes.
For the rare case where a page should move exactly as it is, a document or a spec that needs no re-frame, your agent can copy it directly instead; the copy carries a note of the brain and page it was promoted from. Either way, your original stays exactly where it was, untouched.

A worked example

Tuesday, 2pm: your agent captures the transcript of a supplier call into your work brain. It contains pricing gossip, your gut feelings about the account manager, and one real decision: the team is switching to annual billing. Tuesday, 2:05pm: you tell your agent, “Promote the annual billing decision to the Team Handbook brain.” The agent writes one tidy page into the handbook: the decision, the date, the reasoning. Your gut feelings stay private. That is the whole model: capture everything without worrying, share the parts that matter, on purpose.

Try it

  1. Ask your agent to save a note with two facts in it, one personal, one team-relevant.
  2. Ask it to promote just the team-relevant fact to a shared brain.
  3. Open both brains and compare what each one now contains.
